India , also known as the Republic of India is a country in South Asia. It is the seventh-largest country by area, the second-most populous country (with over 1.2 billion people), and the most populous democracy in the world. Bounded by the Indian Ocean on the south, the Arabian Sea on the southwest, and the Bay of Bengal on the southeast, it shares land borders with Pakistan to the west;[f] China, Nepal, and Bhutan to the northeast; and Bangladesh and Myanmar to the east. In the Indian Ocean, India is in the vicinity of Sri Lanka and the Maldives, while its Andaman and Nicobar Islands share a maritime border with Thailand and Indonesia.
The Indian subcontinent was home to the urban Indus Valley Civilisation of the 3rd millennium BCE. In the following millennium, the oldest scriptures associated with Hinduism began to be composed. Social stratification, based on caste, emerged in the first millennium BCE, and Buddhism and Jainism arose. Early political consolidations took place under the Maurya and Gupta empires; the later peninsular Middle Kingdoms influenced cultures as far as Southeast Asia. In the medieval era, Judaism, Zoroastrianism, Christianity, and Islam arrived, and Sikhism emerged, all adding to the region's diverse culture. Much of the north fell to the Delhi Sultanate; the south was united under the Vijayanagara Empire. The economy expanded in the 17th century in the Mughal Empire. In the mid-18th century, the subcontinent came under British East India Company rule, and in the mid-19th under British crown rule. A nationalist movement emerged in the late 19th century, which later, under Mahatma Gandhi, was noted for nonviolent resistance and led to India's independence in 1947.

Baggage allowance for internal flight
Baggage allowance for most internal flights in India is 15 KG per person plus a hand baggage of 7 Kg per person.
Internet Access and Telephone SIM cards
Internet access is widely available in all hotels in India. Some hotels offer it complimentary and others charge for it – but it is not very expensive.
Voltage in India is 220V/50Hz. You will need to have transformers/ converters so that you can use your gadgets comfortably – We suggest you buying this in your home country or at the airport on arrival, as these are widely available there. Most of the hotels will provide you the same but it may not be available in some very remote hotels/ jungle resorts that you may visit during India travel
Hope all good with you. We want to let you know that we are having a wonderful time in India. Our Driver Paul is lovely and all the guides we have met so far are lovely too. Hotels are also lovely.
Our trip was fantastic – the services of your drivers, reps and guides were of a very high standard and they took good care of us. The trip to Khajuraho was definitely a highlight not only because of the exquisite architecture but also thanks to our guide who was one of the more inspirational and knowledgeable people I have met in years. Varanasi was the most captivating city .
I shall now embark on the mission to sort out my paperwork for the next trip so you will hear from me shortly.
Bye for now.
Our purpose in writing is to express our thanks for the arrangements you and your colleagues made for our trip. We had a wonderful time and the fact that almost all the arrangements went so smoothly and the people who looked after we were so professional and helpful was a major part of that experience.
